Nature's Canvas
The thing that most impressed me as we were driving through the incredible rock formations of Zion National Park and Monument Valley was what an artist Nature is. I was mesmerized by the colors and textures of the rock formations. All of the wonderful petroglyphs were dwarfed by Nature’s artistic talents. There were areas that seemed to be a message if only I could stare long enough to decifer it. The colors, sometimes like buckets of paint dripped down the face of a cliff, were so much more than the palette I would have thought to use. I felt that if I could stay and absorb the beauty of the area, I would also absorb the history of the last several million years. It’s amazing and inspirational. I try to make my art into a tribute to the beauty of nature.
